COLLEGE STATION, Texas — A car crashed into a light pole in the evening after fleeing police in College Station.
According to the College Station Police Department (CSPD), a night shift officer pulled over a Dodge Charger near Southwest Parkway and Anderson Street in town, only to have the driver speed off with two passengers inside while running multiple red lights.
The officer that pulled the Charger over did not pursue, but it was later found to have hit a light pole at Raintree Drive and the east Frontage Road of Highway 6. None of the three individuals that were in the car when the stop occurred, but an officer did spot a passenger walking away from the scene of the crash into the woods and attempted to capture them.
With the help of the CSPD drone team, one of the passengers was able to be located and he got out of the woods and was taken into custody after it was found there were warrants for his arrest.
The individual that was taken into custody was not identified by CSPD, but police say an investigation to identify the driver and other passenger that was involved in the incident is active.
